Let the beauty we love be what we do - Rumi
The Art of Deep Listening…
Love your Mind … how it thinks and feels.
Your innate human intelligence has two aspects - awareness + feelings.
Although we come into this world as pure loving Souls, as babies, we seemed to have learnt a way of living that tends to ‘make us feel bad’ and less lovable. This feeling of badness, of ‘not being good enough’ or somehow ‘unworthy’ makes us feel confused and sad inside, and can sometimes turn into a bit of an angry roar on the outside. We have all felt this vulnerability in varying degrees … it is what helps us deepen our humanity, that is our capacity to grow in wisdom, strength and compassion so we feel Whole (our Soul guiding our thoughts and feelings within the conscious spacious awareness of our mind).
Each one of us has the ability to learn how to tame and ‘fall in love’ with all of this unharnessed and misunderstood energy, we call emotions.
To do this, is to take the journey to understanding what is causing so much inner and outer conflict with our Self, and with our relationship to feeling peaceful and anchored no matter what comes our way.
You are here to embrace how to retrain your mind, to unlearn old habits and outer world ideas, and to replace them with new neural pathways so that your mind and your nervous system hum along, attunded to listening. You are going to slowly declutter your busy thinking mind and uncloak the outer world beliefs from your being.
It is not an easy journey but the most worthwhile experience of your entire life. It is the best investment ever, for feeling your sense of love, belonging, inner truth and peace of mind.
I have outlined below all the ways you can keep remembering who you are, and to allow change to move through you, because ultimately this is what mind training is.
Mind Training - untangling thoughts and feelings
We are born pure loving Souls, without any conditioning of habits, attitudes and beliefs about who we are. We are raised and taught to be the adult we are in three ways.
Inherited DNA through our genomes (genetics and chromosomes) from our ancestors. We can alter our inherited history by expanding our consciousness. Not so dissimilar to Darwins theory of evolution. We call it neurogenesis whereby we consciously alter our brains neural pathways throughout the entirety of our learning life. Our children become the beneficiaries of our hard work. They are enrichened with a heightened state of awareness and ability to easily connect.
Our immediate family and carers influence our thinking, behaviour and attitudes.
There is a collective energy of thought that is carried into our society and way of governing that influences how we think and feel about our Self, and others.
Exploring your family history and the history of your country
Strong emotions and confusion about how to be and how to express your Self ‘is a calling’ from your wise Soul to crack open the outer shell of your being (thinking mind and physical body), untangle the knots of confused thoughts and feelings and peel back all the layers of society’s conditioning that told you who you were.
You get to become an explorer and learn to inquire with curiosity as to why all those thoughts and feelings you were holding and storing up secretly in your mind were so.
Going back through the history of your family with an open curiosity grows a new level (dimension) of understanding about them, and the qualities that make you, you. It is not only fascinating but it also puts a whole new perspective on your unique path, purpose and place in history.
Family and world history plays a significant role in freeing your mind of stories and ideas about your Self. Although no joy to begin with, it does become an enriching experience of healing and a journey you can gradually embrace, savour and cherish however it unfolds.
Who you are
If you have never been told of your origin, then trusting the fact that you are consciousness will seem really weird.
You are consciousness. You are a spiritual being with a Soul that communicates within your mind through awareness and feelings. Your Soul and Self are one in the same. You are consciousness aware of it Self.
We are all by nature spiritual beings. It cannot be otherwise. Spirituality is universal and encompasses all existence. We are part of a vast source of an intelligent life force (energy) which moves through and around us all the time. It belongs to everyone and everything. There is no separation, except what we create with our minds conditioning of habits, attitudes and beliefs.
This is why it can be so easy to get confused about our identity and our sense of belonging. We get lost and forget to trust in our spirit or Soul, and instead identify with the fast moving, always changing and often demanding external world.
Your spiritual nature never changes. You are made of pure loving energy called consciousness, and this light is your guiding anchor to help you navigate life. It is felt as your intuition (the space of deep listening between your thoughts). The more you listen to your intuition and feelings the lighter and more conscious you become. How far you expand your consciousness is really up to you. It depends on how far you wish to take your curiosity in knowing who you are beyond this entity we call Self.
Being anchored in the spacious awareness of your Self and your Surroundings while paying attention to your thoughts, feelings, sensations and sounds allows you to hear from a much deeper and expansive perspective.
Reminding your Self who you are
The ego, or thinking part of your mind will be very resistant to change. It does not like change. It is used to you, and likes the mind made conditioned habits and ways of living that are causing you to feel sad and separated from your heart Soul relationship. What releasing the ego part feels like …
I liken it to coming off a type of addiction because you are breaking long held mental habits that your Soul needs to release from your physical body so it can finally be heard and felt uninhibited.
When you experience a trigger, that is, a very unhappy memory that is alive in your mind, it can be very hard not to react.
It will take all your determined attention to observe your mind while being present to the physical sensations.
It can feel rigid, sticky, gooey and downright horrible until it is loosened, released and dissolved from your being altogether.
The trigger may last a short time or it may last days. However long, be with the feeling and simply observe until it disappears.
Tools for being with strong emotions (click here)
It can feel very challenging when you become aware of your separated Self (observing your mind - aware of how you are reacting) where by your physical body is ‘off doing it’s own thing’. You are in the motions of experiencing the resistant ego’s stories playing out in your physical body. Observe, be aware of this very unpleasant mental and physically rigidity grating against an awful stickiness. Use all the tools available to you until this strong wave of emotion gets weaker and eventually dissolves.
Remind your Self who you are by saying …
I am not my thoughts. I am not my body. I have a mind and I have a body. I know who I am.
Stay strong as you listen with your full attention.
Focus on your breath as a tool for staying anchored.
Breathe long and deep. Imagine your Self creating space with each breath. Be with the breath.
Qualities of the breath - calm, even, quiet, deep, listening and flowing with the beginning and ending of each inhale and exhale.
As your breathing grows richer in quality, so too does the space within and around you.
Learn to scan your body. Pay attention to the parts of your body that struggle to receive fresh, clean oxygen. Bring concentrated breathing to these specific areas until you feel fresh blood flow awakening this once dormant, sticky, painful and/or gross feeling part of your body.
Time and Space
You have all the time in the world. The slower you go, the faster you create. It is an amazing feeling. Although you may tell your Self otherwise, you always have time to dedicate space for your Self.
Boredom is a wonderful sign your Soul is wanting to feel ‘lit up’. To explore your qualities that are ready and waiting to be nurtured, practiced and put into action … for your well Being.
Let every moment be an opportunity to inhabit your body, whether it is sitting in the traffic or walking the dog. Every time you pay attention, you create space, and the opportunity to see and feel it differently, and to invite in abundance.
Insights will come in the space you have opened up to, giving room for the psychological mind to understand the how and why of your thoughts and feelings. You are opening to feelings of forgiveness and to forgiving what you did not know. These are very vulnerable feeling we all share.
Creating new neural pathways and building strong memory muscle requires gentle discipline and takes time. It is tiring work to the already fatigued mind.
Be tender with your Self. Be gentle and be kind in all that you do and say to your Self. Know you are loved and you are cherished. And you are never alone. Be proud of your efforts.
As you begin to feel connected with what lights you up, your time will start to feel precious. You will discover your preferences and you will naturally begin to set quiet boundaries as you feel your mind strengthen in its ability to make decisions. You will know with a growing certainty what you need.
Resistance gets easier to surrender to each time you create space to meet your needs. It is not selfish to give your Self what you need. Quite the opposite. By giving to your Self, you can then easily give to others. You will feel an increasing unknotting until there is no longer the ache in your heart and belief in your mind you are not deserving of success or happiness in doing what you enjoy, in your own unique way.
Unsticking habits to relearn new ways of being
Our state of mind is conditioned into all of us, and this fact we must accept as no-ones fault but as our challenge and responsibility to change through recognition, acceptance, understanding, forgiveness and tender loving care.
What you have experienced is a life time of unconscious habits and beliefs about your Self and the world around you … that are ‘at odds’ with your natural way of being. They have been created by the external world, shifting and changing all the time, making it hard to keep up if you are not anchored in your Soul Self (conscious awareness).
The world is your play ground for learning, listening and understanding as you begin to recognise mental and outer world patterns for ‘seeing it the right way up’ (turning your focus toward your inner world stillness for making decisions and not the outer worlds shifting projections).
Gaining a new perspective takes time and practice until it feels natural. You are not the thoughts or outward projections of anyone or anything. Stories are just that. You are much more than made up ideas and distorted perceptions. Pay attention to recurring thoughts and belief hooks of feeling bad (guilt, shame, embarrassed, stupid etc).
You are here now, learning to master how you feel and think about your mind and your happiness. Enjoy the awakened learning. Feel proud of your Self as you sense, see and feel your growth.
Trust
Trusting we are much more than a physical body and a thinking mind takes time to figure out because we are challenging our belief systems every time we take action in a new way. And we have to keep meeting the resistance, challenge it, feel it, be with it and turn this energy into our friend.
We spend our life sensing our Soul, this deeper intuitive aspect of our being but it is rarely if ever outwardly acknowledged or properly tended to, until now. You are reversing your minds patterns by letting go of what the world is telling you, and to now trust your Soul Self, your intuition, your insights and your feelings, in the present moment. The past and future is always alive in the present moment.
Strength and courage is your power
You already have great strength because you have carried a very heavy weight for a very long time.
What you are doing is healing work. You are releasing and repairing emotional wounds carried over from your family history and our collective history. It takes enormous strength to do this work.
You know who you are. Look in the mirror and remind your Self every day as you smile and say out aloud … ‘My purpose in life is to demonstrate the joy and the power of an open heart ’…. ‘I am made of love and my heart is good and kind’.
Find quotes, affirmations and words which give you inspiration and strength to know you are much more than the make believe stories and judgements of other people’s unconscious behaviour.
From Loneliness to Aloneness (al- one)
Let the loneliness be your friend. It may feel hard, even awful and despairing at first but it does pass as you grow and fill your being in a Self-fulfilling and meaningful way. As long as you are listening to your hearts truth and goodness, you will always attract only the very best for your Self.
Let your Soul be guided. Trust your intuitive and innate feelings (peacefulness, joy, enthusiasm) as you shed your outer world and learn to walk alone (al-one) on your unique path, doing exactly what gives your Soul nourishment,
It takes just one friendly face and a caring smile to remind you who you are, and to shine your light. That one smile will gradually grow to many as you learn to trust your feelings and discover your sense of belonging because you are connecting with an open mind and heart made of goodness.
We attract what our mind creates. It is better to be in the temporary feelings of loneliness, and to grow a friendship with your Self than to be in a crowd of many and still feel lonely and disconnected.
Good Company
Be in the company of kind and understanding people.
To have good friends you have to learn to be a good friend to your Self first. And to do this you must learn to be pristine inside. Free of all the crummy thoughts which said you were undeserving, not good enough, not worthy and that you were somehow bad. This is all not true. It is made up and these stories weaken and eventually disappear every time you challenge your vulnerability and truth.
You do not need to share your transformation with anyone. It is sacred and precious. This is a private time in your life dedicated to you. A time you will always look back on no matter how tough it was and cherish. And one day share, if and when the time is right with those who are ready to listen.
Good company recognises good company. It takes just one good friend to be the strength you need. In time you too can offer that same strength to another. This is kindness - offering your strength when someone else does not yet have theirs.
As you begin to change, and feel empowered, so too do the people you hang out with. It’s a natural part of getting back to your good Self.
Listen to and feel your Self being guided and you will find the confidants with whom you can share your deepest heart felt feelings. You are now connecting on the deepest level as intended from your hearts truth. This is what we all cherish and miss if it is not present in our life.
Pay attention to who listens, encourages and sees your qualities and good nature. This is important.
Appreciate the joy of missing out. Appreciate the joy of every kind act. Appreciate every moment as it unfolds however it comes as your opportunity to learn and to see it differently. These moments are always to help you grow, and expand your wisdom and inner strength.
Don’t get upset - reactive
Golden Rule.
If you do, apologise. Take responsibility for your feelings. How another speaks and behaves is for them to face as their challenge in life, and has nothing to do with you. It is not personal.
Responding rather than reacting is not easy to begin with. You have spent a great deal of time defending and protecting thoughts, feelings and beliefs. We only know what we know until such time as we awaken to living consciously, learning to be aware of experiencing life flowing through us.
Eventually, you will find great joy in being in any given situation with curiosity. And you will see the other on a deeper, curious and more compassionate level. You will see past any misguided words or actions and value the person for who they are, just as they are. Growing empathy towards difficult emotions and behaviours takes time and practice. It is well worth the dedication because your change can bring enormous benefits to the well being of those around you.
Let them have their Right
Golden Rule.
I heard Deepak Chopra say ‘Let them have their right’. It doesn’t matter. It is their thoughts, feelings and beliefs. Listen with curiosity. Recognise patterns of behaviour and thinking as a part of life’s intricate web of learning. See your Self in the other as you observe in this playground we call life.
You always have a choice as to how you want to respond. You can either, say nothing and walk away, listen with your full attention and if the opportunity arises allow your responses to come naturally, or, accept what you cannot change and be with the situation until such time as it does change.
Take nothing Personally
Recognise unconscious behaviour as that. We only know what we know until such time as we awaken to a new state of listening and understanding - of Being, Knowing and Doing.
Be Gracious
Always.
Whatever is said or done to you which does not feel right (sincere), recognise as unconscious behaviour. Without judgement. No-one and no thing has power over you. Just as you have no power over no-one or no thing.
Breathe and feel your inner power to stay anchored in your being. You always have a choice as to how you wish to respond. That is…
Communicate your feelings. Accept what is. Say nothing. Walk away (stay on your path).
Healing is Tiring Work. Feed your Soul.
Releasing strong, heavy emotions is very tiring work. They have been held deep within the body and mind for a great deal of time.
Healing requires plenty of sleep, rest and sitting in nature. This part I cannot emphasise enough.
As you regain your strength so too does your natural desire to care for your self. Put your energy into your sacred healing space for sleeping and resting. Ensure your bed is clean with fresh sheets, regularly changed, a good pillow and nice covering. Keep your space dust free with windows open.
Eat well. Eat clean foods that are fresh and not processed. Exercise. Find that activity that nourishes your body, expands your lungs and stimulates blood flow. Read or listen to audio books to ignite your mind and grow your knowledge as you explore who you are, and your place in this world.
Feed your Soul with all that lights you up. Go dancing if the feeling calls you, create art, or absorb your Self in the wonders of nature … science … building … whatever … the world is your oyster.
Your Soul will know what it needs to feel nourished, strengthened and inspired so you can walk your path with grace, ease and inner peace.
Practice with Patience
Step into you vulnerability and fearlessly put into practice your daily unsticking. Do this by watching, listening, smiling… over and over … until you find your voice to confidently ease through your days.
The world is your playground. It was designed for you to inhabit and to connect with. Take your time. Be measured. Test out your new skills, knowledge and wisdom daily. Feel good about your uniqueness as you discover and implement your reason for being here.
Practice expressing your truth in a way that is beneficial for all. If it is good for you then it is good for everyone. Recognise you are doing your best for now. Growing takes time.
You will make mistakes and sometimes fall over. This is normal and a part of growing and learning new skills. As the days unfold you will notice the small changes turn into a complete transformation where you will trust and be certain in your truth, and abilities.
We are like a jigsaw puzzle, slowly gathering the pieces of our learning so that we can fully serve our purpose and enjoy a life which gives us meaning.
Forgive. Forgiving. Forgiveness
When we are strong and clear in our mind, it is worthwhile dedicating the time and space to thank our ‘great teachers’ who have pushed, poked, and challenged our expansion to seeing our Selves with loving eyes and a compassionate heart.
It may not feel so great at the time and for many of us it can seem like the unforgivable is just too hard to forgive.
But with time, discipline and repetition in learning about our creation, we start to feel our oneness. We realise suffering is not personal and we all experience sadness, pain, loss and loneliness in one form or another and with varying degrees of intensity
Saying the following words trains our mind to release and heal feelings about our Self and others.
‘I forgive all those who have hurt me in this life, and in any life, in any way at all.’
‘I ask forgiveness of all I have hurt in this life, in any life, in any way at all.’
‘I forgive myself for the part I played in my transgression in this life, in any life, in any way at all.’ Blair Styra
Your Natural State
There are three indicators you are at home in your natural state. They are…
A feeling of peace. A feeling of joy. And a feeling of enthusiasm.
These innate qualities will hum away in the background whether you are resting or doing.
Not everything will feel joyful, especially when challenges come along. You do not however lose any of your natural state while you are being purposeful.
As you continue to still your mind your natural feelings of love for your Self will start to shine through. With that comes a natural sense of compassion for your self and for others.
You will enjoy feeling gentle as well as feeling fiercely strong when determination is needed during the more challenging times. These challenges are there to ensure you conduct your Self with sincerity, and to help you keep strengthening your mind.
Patience is a natural quality as you train your mind to be open to whatever comes your way. And to see it with curiosity from a Soul to Soul perspective.
Your strong sense of honesty will keep you in your truth because of all the love and goodness that is returned your way. It is a feeling you will want to share. When you learn how ‘to be there’ for your Self, you are then able ‘to be there’ for others. Learn to say ‘I am here for you’. Feel the feeling grow.
Mind training helps you recognise the patterns of life because you have had to learn a great deal about how your own mind works. These patterns are all around you, wherever you go.
Understanding the mental structures and patterns of life eventually makes it easier for you to flow with life. You learn to detect and respond to what feels like right action and what does not.
How you respond to this will come from deep within through listening to your intuition.
‘Intuition is infinite intelligence talking to us between our thoughts’. Phil Laut
The Psychological
Focus what is right about you. What do you love to do? What lights your Soul up?
Contemplation, insights and putting into action your truth will naturally sort out and rearrange all the untruths and stories that have hidden you from your Self.
Focusing on what is wrong will keep you stuck in the past and reaching for the future.
Bring your attention to presence through breathing, listening, sensing and feeling, even when you are doing.
Rationalising the psychological is important so as to learn about your Self and how you communicate with life.
Ask your Self. ‘What is the dominant thought or hook which keeps coming up as a stuck belief’? Recognise it, allow it to be there just as it is. Investigate and understand this hook or belief and nurture and care for it until it dissolves. And you no longer reacts to other peoples words and actions. You will find you no longer feel bad, or guilty …. you will feel free and delighted as you recognise this monumental change.
Problem solving and critical thinking are learnt skills by way of talking and listening.
Let yourself be guided as you seek out the right interactions and opportunities for expressing your feelings and growing your communication skills.
People and opportunities come in all sorts of surprising and unexpected ways. Always to help you, even if it does not seem so at the time.
Don’t be bogged down by your stories and recurring thoughts. Keep doing the work. Meditate if it calls you. Take very good care of your inner and outer home.
Explore your natural talents
The world is your playground, and is for you to explore because you are naturally curious and creative. Everyone is creative and expresses their creativity in their own unique way.
Let your Self be guided towards what lights you up. Our natural gifts and talents come easily and give us immense joy and fulfilment.
Those which are not our natural talents can cause a lot of unhappiness, both to ourselves and to others.
Be patient as you grow your natural talents. Let your self be guided in your natural talents and gifts.
It feels easy when you are using your natural talents.
The flow on effect is a natural desire to encourage and wish others to be fulfilled in what they love and are naturally good at.
Abundance. Grace.
You already have it all. Wealth is valuing and continually growing what you feel within. This is an absolute.
Believing in the worth of your Self is seeing and appreciating you have a cup full to the brim.
Focus on, and work with what you do have … abundance … and not what you do not have … believing in a ‘lack of’ will keep you feeling poor. It’s all about the mental hooks and beliefs held in your mind, which you are here to unknot, explore and figure out. Ask your Self, how can my inner wealth reflect my outer world living?
Trusting your Self, asks you to quietly create space, by being still, and allowing your Self to expand, thereby listening to your mind (Soul) and heart (intuition) … to opening your inner treasure chest. By being still, you can absorb and appreciate absolutely every bit of abundance in your life, right down to having clean water and fresh air. Not everyone has these basic needs.
Feeling the generosity of every moment lets you feel the full richness of your life.
It is an opportunity to learn and to grow your love for your Self and to share your love abundantly.
You are always given exactly what you need in any given moment to grow your wealth.
Flowing with Life
You do not have a life. You are life.
Without effort or control, and as long as you are speaking from your sincere heart, the natural exchange of giving and receiving will guide you through life. Always!
Giving and Receiving
Giving and receiving acts of love has no weight.
Express your acts of love. Write letters. Give cards, surprise notes, create delicious food … when you are filled with appreciation and gratitude, show it in all the creative ways that fill you up. Be vulnerable. Express your caring nature. Do caring acts. As you fill your well, you have a natural yearning to fill the well of others by recognising their needs and desires so they too can enjoy Self-fulfilment. It becomes a complimentary exchange of nourishment and love.
The value of any gifts of love can be immediate, or can be felt over time, depending on how the gift is given and how it is received.
Lessons take time to learn. The fruits of the gift is empowerment.
Celebrate your birthday🎂
This is your auspicious day! The day you arrived into this world to do what your Soul came to do. Celebrating your birthday is a wonderful way to remember your uniqueness and your innate goodness. Feeling deserving is so important. Birthday cards with words of affection are expressions of loving thoughtfulness and appreciation. They are cherished acts of giving and receiving.
Positivity brings Creativity
The more you still your mind the more quickly you will see the topsy turvey unside downness and back to frontness of life.
Keep creating space so that with a calm and open heart you can allow your voice to articulate and express your truth. With practice and time your words will come with ease, confidence and certainty.
Be positive in your freedom of expression. Be measured in what you say and do, and to whom. The ripple effect of your words and actions carries into all areas of life all of the time.
Always feel your oneness with life … consciously in tune with your whole being and your surroundings.
Honouring your Self
Pay attention to how you are spoken to and how you speak to others.
Is this something you really want to do or are you being agreeable?
Do it because you want to, not because you have to. This is important so that you don’t create feelings of resentment before, during or after the doing. Politely say No until you are ready to say yes.
Are the people in your life resonating with your hearts truth?
Be bold and gentle as you let go of people and welcome in new friendships. You are realigning your values with your integrity and sense of Self.
Feeling Equal
Honouring your Self is feeling neither diminished nor is it augmenting your Self.
Feeling equal is a very challenging lesson because every aspect of our life uses a language which says we are otherwise. There are deeply embedded mindsets which continually challenge our sense of honesty, therefor our innate belief in equality.
Let your Self be alive to ‘inequality’ as is comes. Pay attention to your thoughts and feelings. Do not react. Stay in your power (fully conscious and aware, allowing strong feelings to flow through you).
Fully aware, decide how you want to respond. Either, say nothing … walk away, speak your truth if the opportunity arises, or, accept the situation if it cannot be changed until such time as it does change.
Fear. Desire.
Fear is an innate mechanism within our being to protect us. To keep us safe from harm.
By stilling the mind, you are creating healthy neural pathways so that you respond to fear only when there is the real threat of danger to your or another’s wellbeing.
Outside of this, there is nothing to defend or protect.
Fear is a feeling when there is a mind made belief there is a lack in some part of you. This is not true.
Desire is wanting more, needing more and not being satisfied.
It is natural and healthy to have nice things and to live well.
It is also very easy to feel an unhealthy attachment to people and things and it can distort the mind as to what is of real value and worth. How we love can be distorted by our ideas about sex, ownership, and ultimately sense of worth.
Pay attention to these feelings as they lead you to your truth. Love has no weight.
It is an exchange of giving and receiving without attachment to desire or fear. This is a very hard and important lesson to learn. It takes great practice to understand the true meaning of wealth and value.
Doing the Dreary Stuff
Given we only ever have this moment, then each and every thing we do, we do with our full intention.
We give it our best effort regardless of the task.
It is actually a part of our unsticking because until we grow the skills and knowledge to serve our purpose fully, we are going to have to accept where we are in this moment.
There is always someone who will be grateful for our best effort. And we can appreciate the effort it takes for another to do the same task.
Be Inspired
We like to think we are living in a contemporary world, but more often than not, we are awakened to beliefs, behaviours and attitudes of a past long gone.
Be inspired by the change makers in history. Use your newfound strength and courage to challenge the current ways of teaching and learning - of Being, Knowing and Doing. It is important. Our ripple effect matters. It influences how others enjoy living their best life.
Don’t complain. See the gift.
There is always a solution to any given situation, and a way forward when we take the time to sit still and listen to our Self, our intuition. Our Soul’s truth. We are learning to critically think with our emotional and intellectual mind working together.
It is a wonderful feeling to look back and to feel good about how you faced your challenges. And how you turned them into opportunities for your Self and others.
Kindness - offering someone your strength. Learn to accept help and be open to offering help. Although this is very obvious it is surprising at just how adverse we are to this notion of help.
An Advocate for Change in every moment
We are all advocates for change all of the time in every moment. We might not see it but we are. We are all held together by the same thread, moving through life in different ways, at varying speeds all of the time. Always meeting for brief moments as we walk our path. We can choose how we want to experience these moment and the wealth they add to our life.
However your heart calls you, do it with honesty, strength of mind, gentleness, courage, and an open and compassionate heart. You have taken the journey to understanding your family history, and your relationship with the world you live in. In your quest for Self-inquiry, to know who you are, you have discovered you are always loved. You are never alone. And you will always be fine. These are our three great truths.
Trust you are always guided in what to say, where to go, and what to do, by the infinite intelligence which works through us all. And spoken to us through our intuition (the space between thoughts)
This is the natural law of the universe guiding us with love and support.
Meditation
Meditation is a very natural progression along your spiritual well being path as your desire to sit quietly, and to create space grows.
There are different ways you can practice expanding your state of consciousness.
I personally love to sit in the early morning for an hour or so on my cushion facing an open window. I find it to be a beautiful experience … I get to bathe in a very deep state of love, a space of hugely expanded consciousness. Me and the universe as one. It is pretty darn wonderful. It becomes a quiet and sacred love affair with our Self.
Meditation can begin simply by spending time quietly in the garden, observing. Put your focus where it fills you with beauty and appreciation. Stay with the focus of your sounds, feelings, thoughts and bodily sensation. Not adding to or avoiding … but by being the observer observing.
Tara Brach and Jack Cornfield offer gentle and easy to listen to meditations which I have personally loved and found incredibly helpful when I needed daily reminders of my true nature.
